In 1988, about a dozen of what are now the best breweries in the US started making beer. Three of those recently decided to celebrate by collaborating on Barleywines founded in the definition of that style by legendary Portland beer authority, Fred Eckhardt. This is the first one out of the gate: Deschutes Class of '88. This is, in our humble opinion, as good an American-style Barleywine as we've tasted...ever. Our style emphasizes hops over the original British Malt Bombs and this is a letter-perfect balance of Old World and New. There's not much of this to be had, so act fast and see what perfection tastes like! Now available in 750ml bottles while supplies last.
Rich caramel, fig, and nut flavors meld seamlessly with huge notes of spruce tips, pink grapefruit, and wildflowers.
